Bitcoin Eyes $100K While ETH and Alts Show Strength
BTC creeps toward six figures as Ethereum and several altcoins push for new 2026 highs. Charts suggest the bulls might be back in control.

The market's doing something interesting today. Bitcoin's making another run at that psychological $100,000 level we've been watching since late last year, and honestly, it feels different this time. Not the frantic FOMO buying we saw in early 2025, but more of a steady grind higher. That's usually healthier for sustained moves.
What's catching my eye isn't just Bitcoin though. Ethereum's waking up from its recent slumber, and several major alts are showing signs of life. XRP, BNB, and Solana are all pushing against resistance levels that have held firm for weeks. Even the meme coins are stirring - DOGE is up 8% today alone. When you see this kind of broad participation, it typically signals stronger conviction among buyers.
But here's where it gets interesting. The technical setups across these charts look remarkably similar. Bitcoin's forming what looks like an ascending triangle on the daily, while ETH shows a clear inverse head and shoulders pattern. These are classic continuation patterns in an uptrend. Monero and Bitcoin Cash are lagging a bit, which isn't surprising given their recent regulatory headwinds.
I'm watching the $100K level on Bitcoin closely. We've knocked on this door three times since November 2025, and each rejection has been shallower. Volume's picking up too - always a good sign when price is rising. If BTC can close above $100K with conviction, we might see some serious fireworks heading into February.
The wild card? Link and Cardano are both coiling tight. When these two break, they tend to move fast. Given the current market structure, I'd lean bullish, but crypto has a funny way of humbling anyone who gets too confident.
