CZ Won't Return to Binance Despite Trump Pardon, Eyes 2026 Bitcoin Run
The former CEO says Binance doesn't need him looking over their shoulder. Plus, he's betting on a massive Bitcoin rally this year.

Changpeng Zhao just shut down any speculation about returning to Binance. The exchange's co-founder, who stepped down as CEO after his legal troubles in 2023, made it crystal clear during a recent interview that he's not planning a comeback. Even with a potential presidential pardon from Donald Trump on the table.
"They don't need a backseat driver," CZ said about Binance's current leadership. And honestly? He's probably right. The exchange has been doing just fine without him at the helm. Trading volumes are solid, new products keep rolling out, and the regulatory heat has cooled down significantly since his departure.
But here's what caught my attention. CZ dropped a pretty bold prediction about Bitcoin entering a "supercycle" this year. We're talking about the kind of sustained rally that could make previous bull runs look tame. Now, I've heard plenty of supercycle theories over the years, and most don't pan out. But when someone with CZ's track record and insider knowledge starts talking like this, it's worth paying attention.
The timing is interesting too. Bitcoin's been building momentum since late 2025, institutional adoption keeps growing, and the macroeconomic picture actually looks favorable for once. Add in the fact that we're due for another halving in 2028, and you can see why some big players are getting bullish.
Still, take any price predictions with a grain of salt. The crypto market has a funny way of doing the exact opposite of what everyone expects. But if CZ's right about this supercycle thing? Well, 2026 could get very interesting for anyone holding Bitcoin.
